I’ve been dying to go on a mom-and-son date with my little man and was so happy when we were invited to the Cresta Lifestyle Fair, which is currently running until Sunday 5 November. I strongly believe that it’s important to spend time cultivating a relationship with each one of your children, individually, and the Cresta Lifestyle fair came at the right time, because it offered a great experience for both of us in unique ways.
What was unique about this fair is that the activities are not concentrated at one part of the mall,; they are spread-out across Cresta Shopping Centre, so that you can experience different parts of one of our largest shopping centres. It also keeps “traffic” at a manageable state, which is a pleasure at a popular event.
Summer Garden Party Inspiration
We started out at the beautiful Garden Party at the Barnyard Court, which is an exhibit to find inspiration for when you host your own guests at your home during South Africa’s most loved season! This setting showcases the latest home, garden and design décor, which are sold at various stores across Cresta Shopping Centre. We took some pictures and played with props at the most magnificent flower wall.
Gourmet Food Pairing
We then moved onto the part that I loved most – the gourmet food pairing experience, hosted by one of the most prominent food masters, Chef Tjaart. He guided us through a Summer-inspired food and beverage pairing that infused so many interesting tastes, textures and delicious Durbanville Hills wines! I would highly recommend this experience for a girl’s or date night this week.
The intimate sessions will host 40 Cresta guests per seating and you can book an evening session during the week or lunch and evening sessions on Saturday. To book your exclusive seats at the table visit http://qkt.io/Cresta
Bookings are open for the following sessions:
Tuesday to Friday 18:00
Saturday 13:00 and 18:00
This exclusive experience is situated at the Food and Entertainment Court, upper level.
Then I was reminded by the little guy that it was time for him to explore and there were great options.
The Manhattan’s kids area, situated at the lower banking level, had fun activities and yummy treats.
The Art Studio is the perfect spot for budding artists to engage their creativity through Art Jamming. The good news is that this experience is not just limited to children – adults can get their creative juices flowing here too. Lesedi was inspired by his shoe of the day.
Okay, so I’ve told you all this amazing stuff about the fair and now you’re dying to go. To stand a chance to win a double ticket to the gourmet food pairing experience, tag me on a social media post, telling me who you would love to share this experience with and why. Hashtag #CrestaLifestyleFair.
Lady luck was on my side, because I was fortunate enough to win a R700 voucher from Levi’s 🙂

Oh, did I mention that Cresta has the best family room I’ve EVER seen?! Seriously! Please check it out when you are there – it’s HUGE, clean, colourful and has fun activities to keep the children equally inspired.
