I don’t mean to show off, but I kinda, sorta have the most amazing friends – there’s lots of evidence to prove it, but my pregnancy journey and baby shower have been testament to this.
This sorta-surprise baby (watch the video here) has been showered with plenty of love and acceptance right from the beginning and it’s really made it a pleasant eight months for my family and I.
I had a beautiful and intimate baby shower last weekend, arranged and hosted by my sister and friends. There wasn’t a theme – just a room filled with blooms, friends, laughter and delicious cake!
The shower was not a surprise, so I appreciated that I could plan my outfit, makeup and hair… A girl has got to look like her best, glowing self! But I know it would have worked our regardless. The weather is always unpredictable in May, so I was pleasantly surprised that it was warm day – enabling all the yummy-mummy’s to get a break and much needed time out outside.
Since I have most of the “big items” like a cot, stroller, baby carriers and car seats, I requested vouchers, which I can use for the items I have to buy new (I’m almost done compiling my final shopping list), however, I did get some beautiful prezzies over and above the vouchers, which are appreciated.
I’m planning to finish the last bit of shopping in the next few days – and I have also placed a few online orders. Now I can spend the next few weekends sorting out our home, resting and waiting for this very loved and yet-to-be-named baby boy.
Thank you to my crew for making it happen and everyone who came to celebrate us!! How blessed am I?!
