{Giveaway} Jordan Kids Hamper for a 5-6 year old boy

What do you do when your son has just discovered the word “Swag”? I’ve chosen to laugh about and embrace the fact that my lil man is growing up. I don’t know how we got here so quickly, but the fact remains, he now wants to “look cool”. I think it’s cute and I love the fact that he has started expressing his personality through fashion.

As winter sets in, the mornings and evenings in Joburg have been quite chilly, so hoodies have become an essential item in his closet. He’s loving the Jordan Kids winter range and was even arguing with his dad about who-looks-better-than-who this weekend. The Jordan Kids premium brand of athletic apparel, accessories and footwear, inspired by the dynamic legacy of Michael Jordan, keeps kids warm and active, with a selection of items your kids will all want.

Although he’s more of a soccer-fan than a basketball one, he’s definitely taken by the Jordan Kids range. It features hoodies, caps and tees in muted tones to help kids perfectly emulate their favourite sporting heroes. Jordan has grown into a complete collection of premium athletic performance and lifestyle products.

  1. Hello mommy 🙂

Been keeping an eye for a new post.
So our guy’s new word is ‘Mfethu'(Xhosa slang word for ‘my brother’). The other day he said ‘mama mfethu m hungry’ hahahaha.

We are new in Jozi so we are still discovering places and things to do. So most of the time we are playing games indoors (karaoke our most fave fave)this is sort of our first winter here. We welcome ideas by the way of what we could get up to in and around the Centurion area. We recently discovered The purple Cow and Moyo Zoo lake.

    1. Hi Ncumisa

Some nice outdoor places in centurion to take advantage of the winter sun during the day:
Irene dairy farm – the kids can see farm animals, watch cows being milked and there is a jugle gym to play. There’s also a restaurant for the adults to chill and grab a bite.

Rooihuiskraal Historical Terrain and Animal farm – great for picnics and braais whilst the kids run around and play

  2. We love to make a mbawula outside and we all sit around(I have three boys and the youngest is 5) with our blankies and braai marshmallows and drink hot chocolate, tell ghost stories and have some awesome laughs and family quality time at no huge expense.

  3. My son loves his cousins to bits. we are based in Johannesburg and they are in Klersdorp. Twice a month we have to go visit them. They are the same age group, with my son turning 6 in July and they just love each other. They are learning new things and every time on our way back I will get to hear about what they got up to and he will be feeling and acting like a man.

He makes me laugh so much cause every time his dad is not around he calls himself “The Man Of The House” I guess that the swag!

  4. One of our winter activities is having a movie marathon. Each member of the family selects their favourite (PG-appropriate) movie to watch in a day-long marathon & then pass popcorn ?!

Last week we went for a winter hike. These are to accommodate my 2nd born, Vuyani. He doesn’t like indoors. So we go on a winter hike in a park. Collect items we find and glue them to sturdy paper to make a beautiful nature collage.

My kids also enjoy baking cookies.
Everyone makes their favourite recipe, with Mommy’s help of course. Yesterday we made scones after doing our homework.

  5. Oh wow my son Austin who is currently 5 would love this hamper as he starts Grade R next year, he has been asking me to get him cool clothes cos his big brother doesnt wear spiderman. He is very fussy about my choice in clothing for him and prefers to dress himself in the morning lol.Austin is my youngest son,I have 3 boys and 1 girl. Our favourite winter things to do as a family are movie nights at home under the covers with Milo, popcorn and lots of snacks.

    1. Hi Tumi,

Oh thank you so much for sharing. We will most definitely go check it out.

  6. Wow! The Jordan Kids winter collection is dope, I have a 4yr old son who is obsessed with tracksuits and he wears 5-6. Our winter favourite activities include having a reading picnic in our bedroom dressed in our onesies, doing puzzles, jumping on the trampoline ( which brings out the inner child in me) and playing hide and seek.

  7. My 5 year old little boy who is also called Lesedi, who is actually not so little now because he is a big brother of which i am reminded all the time. He loves new clothes and looking good and it is always nice to take new clothes for him when we visit him as he lives with his grandmother in Limpopo. Anyways so fathers day is coming up and they are having a do at school where they need to dress like their dads and this would be awesome if he won this as his father already has a Jordan Tshirt so now they can have matching clothes on the day. As i said, my little boy is in Limpopo so i don’t see him everyday, but the last activity we did together in the beginning of the winter was to go buy pizzas and chill in the park playing on the swings under the bright sun. Nothing keeps you warmer than playing under the sun

  8. hi Mamah, my son is soon to be 5 his name is Siphosethu. we are family of chefs :-), and our most loved winter activity is def playing around in the kitchen. more like he is the taster, his 7 old sister does all the staring and ingredient arrangements and his 11 year old brother does all chopping. the most loved meal that just warms up the whole house is Amadombo and lamp curry….it kinda includes baking and cooking all at the same time, while warming up the whole house.

  9. Our favorite thing to do this winter is horse riding, my son has recently taken liken to it. We spend our Saturdays at the Soweto equestrian for lessons, this hamper would be ideal to keep him warm as he practices well I have a cup of coffee to keep me warm.

  10. Our favourite thing is exploring outdoor. We enjoy seeing creatures you don’t normally see on hotter days, baking mud pies, we play in the colourful leaves strewn on the ground, splash in puddles and dance in the rain. I don’t know why but we’ve always enjoyed winter way more than summer
